Fashion Week is one of New York City’s marquee events attracting thousands from celebrities and politicians to social, cultural and media stars and the fashion industry elite. Twice a year, leading and cutting-edge designers present their collections under the renowned Bryant Park tents. Several thousand buyers, retailers and members of the national and international press from 32 countries attend the shows each season, generating thousands of articles and substantial television coverage. W Magazine’s Celebrity Yard Sale For A Good Cause The Beauty Show was on hand shooting video as W Magazine hosted its second annual W Hollywood Yard Sale where celebrities came out in full force to raise donations for Clothes Off Our Back. Clothes Off Our Back is THE organization where celebrities donate their designer attire to benefit charities such as Children’s Defense Fund, Smile Train and Cure Autism Now. The event was hosted at a private home in Brentwood with sponsors such as Guess, Pevonia, Fred Segal and other who hosted booths selling items from their personal and professional lives—all at reduced prices for Clothes Off Our Back. Items included celebrities clothing worn in the latest movies, to accessories and memorabilia studded with star-power appeal. Some of the items for sale included items from NBC’s Daytime hits, vintage fashion pieces from Resurrection, clothing and accessories from GUESS, hip pet items from Fifi & Romeo, Inc., vintage eyewear from Pierce Bronson’s own collection and many more. Fred Segal Beauty offered make-up applications, Kid’s Corner provided face painting and caricature sketches while people shopped and played and listened to music by Samantha Ronson and DJ AM. Attendees on the list included Nicky Hilton (fashion designer), Amanda Bynes (What I Like About You), Jane Kaczmarek (Malcolm in the Middle), Bradley Whitford (the West Wing) and Lisa Rinna (Soap Talk), amongst a long list of contemporaries. |
